He's on in '08 in London and Manchester.First ever UK gigs.Could be a good Christmas present :)

Just got back from Hammersmith after being subjected to his alleged humour. I walked out before the end. Just utterly fucking grim. Gormless, sexist, politically imbecilic, frankly racist and an act entirely based on the most feeble stereotypes. His support act Byron Someoneorother pissed all over him from a great height. Rock started well enough, but rapidly unravelled. Interestingly, the largely black crowd were getting quieter as the show went on. Total, utter crap. But then I suppose if you find someone shouting "nigger" and "fuck" at the top of their voice amusing, you would have been highly entertained.

I've liked some of his stuff in the past but I saw a recent live thing and it was very, very poor... shades of Ediie Murphy really, once the big screen and the Hollywood thing happens you lose touch with your old reality (and the original sources for your humour) and just stop being funny. He'll be getting a Spice Girl up the duff before too long.

Brad V
That sounds exactly like what I saw... no more blow jobs... no more eating pussy (wait for it)... after... you... get.... married... hur hur. How original :(That's exactly it. There were funny jokes in there, but wedged in between this tired cliched crap.

Oscars 2005 hosted by Chris Rock

Oh. What was that? Did I miss something? Nope. The telecast was just as I had predicted it in my Sunday story. In a word: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I think the problem is one of oversaturation. We saw so much of this already, and in such more comfortable surroundings, whether it was the gleeful Golden Globes or the dignified Screen Actors Guild awards -- so by the time we made it to the Academy, all the fun was gone. And Chris Rock tried so hard to be something he's not, instead of embracing his Chris Rockness. Oh well. If we're lucky, Rock's opening lines may have proven to be all too astute when he announced he was hosting the 77th and last Academy Awards.
Chris Rock's monologue: What was everyone worried about exactly? He even told the same jokes from his rehearsals earlier last week (and revealed online in spoiler fashion).
At the water cooler (or over the instant-messaging service) tomorrow, you'll likely dish about tonight's Academy Awards and debate who looked fabulous, who looked fabulously awful and whether Chris Rock hit the mark with his monologue.Years from now, however, your biggest Oscar memories won't be about who wore what, who hosted or even who won - they'll be about what the winners said in their 60 seconds of live prime-time glory.Don't believe me?Name the year and movie that won Roberto Benigni the Best Actor Oscar. Roberto who? Oh, you mean the guy who climbed over A-listers and their chairs, then said he'd "like to be Jupiter and kidnap everybody and lie down in the ground making love to everybody.''Yes, that guy.Try this in a public place. Ask everyone who has seen The Pianist to raise their hands. Now ask how many of them remember seeing Adrien Brody lip-lock Halle Berry when he won an Oscar for that film. Note the difference.Oscar telecasts are such droll, drawn-out, meticulously planned affairs that it's the acceptance speeches - often the only unpredictable part of the show - we remember most.

Chris Rock - The Great Legend Comedian

Chris Rock is not only famous for his comedy nature in the United States but also all over the world. Chris rock comedy we cannot forget or cannot take out from the history because the history of comedy cannot survive without the legend Chris Rock. His comedy typically involves race relations in the United States, although he devotes a large portion of his material to women. Though not directly based on it, a lot of his comedic views are rooted in his teen years; his very strict parents, concerned about the neighborhood schools had him bussed to an almost all-white high school in Bensonhurst (a white-ethnic neighborhood of Brooklyn that ironically was known at the time for poor race relations). In the fall of 2005, UPN is going to premiere a sitcom called Everyone Hates Chris that is based on Rock's high school days.
